People vs Places was a 7-year collaboration between Stephanie Bassos and Timothy Burkhart, focused on the serendipity of discovery through double exposure.

Over the course of the project, Stephanie exclusively shot images of people on 35mm film. After rewinding the roll, she would pass the camera to Tim, who exclusively shot environments on the same roll. Neither photographer ever knew what the other had captured, and the resulting unedited images create fictional worlds that inspire unique narratives for viewers.Featured in Wired, Fast.co, Huffington Post, and Chicago Magazine.
