In 2007 I found a job on Craigslist Greece to “Bartend on a Greek island and listen to Willie Nelson till the sun comes up and the smell of warm bread fills the bakeries.” I desperately applied, and two weeks later I found myself on Sifnos at The Old Captain Bar. I went back the next summer and worked at another bar. I continue to go back every few years with my husband and son, and visit with the people I have grown to love. The island feels more like home to me than my hometown and the people feel like family. in 2016, Travel + Leisure  gave me the opportunity to document my trip and show off my favorite place in the world.
